Awarehouse Excursion: Cold, Nature & the Elements
This isn’t just a hike. It’s a ritual.
The purpose of this Awarehouse Excursion is to deepen your relationship with cold, with nature, and with the part of yourself that comes alive when structure falls away and the elements take the lead.
This is a chance to bring your practice off the mat, out of the plunge, and into the wild. To feel the earth beneath your feet. The water around your skin. To remember how much clarity lives in contrast.

🌲 What to Expect:
We’ll meet at the trailhead.
There will be hugs, laughter, and a shared breath to set our intentions.
From there, we hike in together—an easy, mindful trail winding through forest and alongside the water.
Once we arrive at the spot, we’ll ground and prep for cold exposure:
→ Breath.
→ Presence.
→ Patience.
You’ll enter the water gently. You’ll breathe with the river. You’ll let your system rise and soften.
Then you’ll emerge. You’ll rewarm. You’ll feel it: that electric, primal, peaceful reset.
We'll hike back slowly, sip something warm, laugh some more, and return to our cars by 11 AM—changed.
🔥 Notes for the Journey:
Bring water shoes—there are slippery rocks and your feet will thank you.
Pack a towel, warm layers, and a way to change post-dip.
Feel free to bring snacks or a warm thermos for after.
No dogs, no kids—this space is for you.
The hike is easy terrain: less than a mile in, just over two miles out—with gorgeous views of the run and the Potomac throughout.
Water temps will be brisk—mid to high 30s—but your breath is your anchor.
I’ll guide the journey, hold the group, and keep the container clear.
I won’t be getting in the water—but I’ll be right there, holding you in it.

You’ll learn how to breathe through the resistance, listen to your body’s cues, and stay in right relationship with discomfort—not to override it, but to grow with it.

Connection as a Practice - Consent and Platonic Touch
CONNECTION AS A PRACTICE
In a world that often rushes, true connection requires a different pace.
One rooted in presence, trust, and nervous system attunement.
We long to feel close—yet so many of us haven’t been taught how to be with touch, boundaries, and intimacy in a way that feels safe in the body.
This workshop is all about consent and platonic intimacy—how we give and receive connection with clarity and care. Through a mix of journaling, self-reflection, movement, touch, and group discussion, we’ll practice attuning to our own needs while respecting the boundaries of others. You’ll leave with practical skills to communicate with confidence, build deeper relationships, and create meaningful connections in a way that feels good for everyone involved.

Jonathan Forney
Jonathan is a self-inquiry coach, dancer, rock-climber, musician, and yoga teacher. His mission is to cultivate authenticity and deep presence in himself and others. Jonathan spent a decade of his life evaluating aid programs in sub-Saharan Africa. Now he’s focused on coaching people to love themselves, to find purpose in stillness, and to give their gifts fully to the world through compassionate living. Jonathan is currently training to become a marriage and family therapist and has dedicated the past four years to an immersive study of group facilitation, trauma healing, and breakthrough life-coaching.

Wim Hof Method Fundamentals
Put yourself in the expert hands of Bob Soulliere, a Level 2, Certified Wim Hof Method Instructor, to learn the 3 pillars of the Wim Hof Method: Breathing Technique, Cold Exposure and Commitment.
Whether you are looking to improve mental or physical performance, relieve symptoms related to an illness, or are just curious to find out what the Wim Hof Method is all about— a WHM workshop offers something for everyone.
The workshop will begin with an introduction to the Wim Hof Method. The Method will teach you how you can utilize oxygen and cold exposure to optimize body and mind, both in daily use, as well as for optimal athletic performance. You will learn the underlying physiology to the mechanics of breath and how exactly the breath and cold exposure can reduce inflammation, speed up the metabolism, and alter the pH of the blood to an alkaline state. You will embody how to activate and commit to a mindset, and empower yourself to take these tools out of the workshop and into your life.
In addition to the knowledge gained through instruction, you’ll get to experience a full Wim Hof Method breathing session and be guided through a cold plunge (not required, but encouraged!). At the end there is ample room for reflection, integration and additional information about how to incorporate these techniques into your daily goals.
Self as Sanctuary - a Microdosing Workshop
Local psychedelic community leaders Kat Hargreaves and Elizabeth Tuten of Sanctuary will join us for an afternoon of microdose education and inner exploration. An initiated medicine woman, Kat will share about the energy of the mushroom as a being with its own consciousness – its unique gifts and teachings, as well as the mushroom’s powerful potential for spiritual transformation. Elizabeth will speak to the neurological and behavioral impacts of microdosing, the dominant theories of how to do so most effectively, and how to determine dosing.
Kat will then lead the group through a life mapping exercise designed to identify what aspect of one’s being would be most supported by an intentional microdose protocol. We’ll share what came up for each of us in small groups, while each participant takes a turn speaking with Elizabeth to use applied kinesiology to determine their ideal strain and most supportive dose.
